Step Height and Custom Sizes

We can make the steps any height you need, from 10" per step down to 5"—at no extra charge. Just let us know what you'd like in the "Special Instructions & Custom Requests" box in your shopping cart. If you need a different height, width or length, just let us know. Because we hand-build all our items, there is only a small surcharge to customize.

Custom Engraving

Mini Foot Stool with Engraving - Old-Growth RedwoodWould you like a message engraved on your step stool? Engrave a child's name, the name of your business, or almost anything you want! We can add a custom message for only a small additional cost. See example to the right, shown on our Mini Foot Stool. Just select the "Custom Engraving" option in the drop-down menu in your shopping cart, and let us know your message in the "Special Requests & Custom Orders" box upon checkout. There is only the limitation of 3/4" per character (includes letters and spaces), and we'll add your engraving on one or two lines for the same price of $20 (up to 50 characters).

If you'd like a particular font style for your custom engraving, just send us a Word or PDF doc with the font, spacing, and wording you would like. Send it to raul@foreverredwood.com after you place your order. Be sure to let us know you're sending it in the comment box during checkout, so we know to expect it. We will do our best to match the style. Due to limitations of the engraving tool, we may not be able do extra-fancy fonts. Here is an example of the kind of document you can send us.

Folding Two-Step Stool Dimensions

24"L x 14"H. When stool is closed, it is 13 1/2"D. When stool is opened, it is 20 1/2"D. Lower Step (which folds in) is 18 1/2"L x 7"H. The top step is 24"L. Both steps are 10"D. Capacity is 300 lbs. Approx. Weight: 25 lbs. Can be made in any size— just let us know what you need.

Wood Samples: If you'd like to experience the quality of our wood before placing a furniture order—or if you'd like to see first-hand the difference between our five grades of wood—we offer a set of wood samples. For $20 we'll expedite your samples anywhere in the continental US (or $25 to Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada). The purchase price will be refunded on your first furniture order.

Finish Options

Your furniture can be finished in one of five ways (select during checkout):

  • Premium Sealant

    If you want to keep the natural wood tones with a translucent Alkyd oil based product. This finish will hold the surface color for an average of 4 years.

  • Unfinished

    Lets you apply your own stain, or let the wood fade to a "weathered look" in a few months.

  • Off-White Oil-Based Primer

    If you're going to paint in a light color. (We apply two coats.)

  • Gray Oil-Based Primer

    If you're going to paint in a darker color. (We apply two coats.)

  • Wax Finish

    If you plan to use your furniture indoors and would like to keep it looking great without sealant or paint.
