Old and Young Redwood: Excessive logging has made old-growth redwood trees (over 200 years old) rare outside of
parks. When our ancient forest was cut in the 1950's, many logs were left on the ground. We mill some of this old-growth
into exquisite, tight-grain furniture that is no longer available anywhere else. We also carefully harvest small amounts of younger trees to make the same furniture for less cost (click for redwood grade info). Either way, we offer decay-proof, maintenance-free outdoor furniture AND your dollars go to restore instead of degrade forestland. OGA outdoor furniture is available in three grades of Redwood:

OLD-GROWTH (from trees over 200 years old) - when our forests were logged in the 1950’s, many high-quality logs were left on the ground. OGA recovers and mills this exquisite wood. Because of over logging in the past, old-growth redwood is very difficult to find anymore.
Mature is from trees averaging 100 years of age, and,
Young (from trees averaging 50 years of age).

Each furniture piece can be customized to your needs. For example, if you don’t see the size you need – just ask. Most tables are available with benches attached or separate. Also, table and bench top corners can be ordered squared or rounded. Tabletops can have umbrella holes or not. We hope you’ll find what you are looking for.

OGA's "Forever" furniture is unique in the marketplace. Because we mill our own wood, the boards on our "Forever" furniture are cut a full two-inches by six inches thick. Most picnic tables and benches are made from lower grade redwood (con-heart or lower). These lower quality boards are usually one inch or one-and-a-half inches thick. For example, picnic tables advertised as made from a standard two-by-six are actually only one-and-a-half-inches thick and five and one-quarter-inches wide. OGA's full two-by-six-inch board has 52% more wood. The extra thickness and girth significantly increases the feel, appearance, sturdiness and durability of the furniture.

For example, our Eight-Foot Forever Picnic Table with attached benches weighs over 200 pounds. The Five-Foot Round Picnic Table with attached benches weighs over 300 pounds.

We use only stainless steel bolts and screws on all of our furniture. No nails or glue is used in any of our furniture. Picnic tables that are twelve feet and longer are made with three sets of legs.

Each furniture piece has a small thank you plaque attached that says: “Proceeds used for Forest Restoration” with our contact information and a serial number.
