Rectangular Picnic Table Options
Our standard tabletop is 36 inches wide. However, our tables are used outdoors, indoors, in business settings…so if you need a different width for your application, you can easily customize your order. The current options that you will find during the checkout process are: 30", 42", 48", 54", and 60". For example, if your table will be used for dining and you frequently serve meals using large platters or bowls, you might want the additional space for your guests.
The 30" width, shown in the photos below, is a money-saving option.
Standard or Adjusted Leg Flair
The traditional leg flair on our picnic tables is 47 inches (measured from the outside of the legs). However, some customers prefer to make this leg flair less wide, in order to accommodate detached benches or chairs. If you prefer this option, just choose the Adjusted Leg Flair option at checkout. We will reduce the leg flair width to the same as the width of the table, to a maximum of 47 inches.
Standard or Seamless Tabletop
Our seamless tabletop option is ideal for use in an covered patio or indoors. It can be taken outdoors for a meal or party but isn't designed for outdoor living. The seamless construction creates a beautiful unbroken tabletop surface that is just as strong as our standard tabletop. But outdoor tabletop boards need "breathing" room to expand and contract to the constant changes in moisture and temperature. The standard tabletop boards are separated by 1/16-inch to allow for this movement.
Parquet and Old Country Tabletops
L-R: Parquet, Old Country Tabletops
You can order any Picnic or Patio table with a Parquet Tabletop. If you select the Parquet design, any benches for the set will be matching parquet benchtops by default. If you prefer benches in a different design, just mention it in the comment section at checkout. The parquet pieces will be naturally varied in color as shown at right. When left outdoors the color will slowly even out. The Parquet Tabletop choice is available during the checkout process at no additional charge.
You can also choose our Old Country Tabletop option. The Old Country design is an old European design that can be used either outdoors or indoors. For indoors, you can choose a seamless tabletop design with no spacing between the boards. For year round outdoor applications, please choose our standard tabletop design (1/16" spacing between the boards) to let the boards move with the changing temperature and moisture.
Squared or Rounded Corners
Umbrella Hole
Want to enjoy an umbrella with your table? We do not sell umbrellas, but we will drill a two-inch umbrella hole for you at no charge. Simply select this option at check-out. A plug is included with the umbrella hole option– see images at right.
ADA Accessibility Design
Our 8-Foot Picnic Tables can be easily altered to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Accessibility Design standards at no extra cost. (See photos at right.) The 8-Foot Picnic Table is the ideal table size for this. The ADA accessible option is not available with shorter tables, but can be incorporated into our longer tables also at no extra cost. The way it is done is straightforward. The standard 8-Foot Picnic Table with attached benches has the legs recessed 18" under the tabletop ends and is 30" tall. To accommodate a wheelchair, we do three things:
- We raise the tabletop height to 31 ½" to increase clearance under the table.
- We recess the legs back two more inches to 20" away from the tabletop edge to allow more wheelchair wheel space.
- We trim the last 20" off the benches beyond the table leg on either one side of the table or both (just let us know you prefer both sides).
These tables have been purchased by the Borough of Princeton, NJ municipal park system as well as the US Forest Service. They are used in many city and state parks to provide full access to all public visitors.

Rectangular Picnic Table Dimensions
Tables alone with standard tabletop are 36"W x 30"H, and 63"W with attached benches. The legs of the tables flare out to 46 1/2"W at the base/ground level.
Benches—whether attached or detached—have a benchtop width of 12". Detached benches have legs that flare out to 17" at base/ground level. If you choose end tables with your set, they are built 6" shorter than the width of the table, in order to insure that benches don't bump. Just let us know if you'd like something different.
Boards are fully 2" thick. All tables over 8'L have legs made with 3" thick timbers for proper support. All tables over 10'L have 3 sets of legs for proper support.
