We were curious about what inspired them to purchase the subject of their winning photo, a 14ft x 10ft Forever Redwood <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/sun-gazebo-with-sliding-doors.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sun Gazebo<\/a>. We also wondered if they\u2019d decided how to use their $10,000 1st Place Gift Certificate. \ud83c\udfc6<\/p>\n<p>When the Womacks began researching outdoor structures to replace an old hot tub house, they were guided by three important considerations: a pre-existing concrete pad, the extremes of Minnesota weather, and, above all, their love for entertaining family outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019s web search eventually led him to Forever Redwood and the Sun Gazebo. Both <strong>he and Deb loved the design<\/strong>. By comparison, other structures they\u2019d researched lacked character and style. When Don posed questions about the Sun Gazebo to Founder and CEO, Raul Hernandez, he was impressed by Raul\u2019s <strong>knowledge and expertise.<\/strong> He also appreciated Forever Redwood\u2019s commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/restoration-forestry\/overview\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">restoration forestry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But Don was also a bit skeptical. \u201cI just could not imagine a company in California that would be able to be competitive with what I could get locally.\u201d Quality control over a long distance was also a concern. But <strong>he and Deb decided to go for it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When the shipment arrived and Don inspected it, he was able to relax. Sort of&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I opened the boxes, I was so impressed by the massive 14ft timbers, and that they do it in one cut. But that means it\u2019s unbelievably heavy!\u201d He\u2019d planned to assemble the structure himself, and, while he was able to complete the foundation, <strong>he called in the Forever Redwood \u201ccavalry\u201d <\/strong>for the rest. \u201cI highly recommend Forever Redwood\u2019s White Glove Service because they do an excellent job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Forever Redwood\u2019s <strong>willingness to customize<\/strong> played a huge part in bringing Deb and Don\u2019s vision to life. In addition to accommodating the pre-existing concrete pad, the team reinforced the standard roof against Minnesota\u2019s extreme winters. \u201cDealing with someone in California, you wonder if they really know the meaning of \u2018severe snowstorms,\u2019\u201d Don chuckled. The roof was tested the very next winter when the area experienced record snowfall. The result? The Sun Gazebo <strong>sailed through without a hitch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This past summer, Don wired the structure for electricity and installed a ceiling fan. Two custom screened panels keep the area cool and free of mosquitos, allowing the Womacks, their family, and especially their grandchildren to take <strong>full advantage of the all-too-brief Minnesota summers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1525\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image004.jpg 1027w, https:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image004-300x223.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image004-768x572.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.foreverredwood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image004-1024x763.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><em>When people see it, they say it\u2019s magical. &#8211; <\/em>Deb Womack<\/p>\n<p>Deb and Don <strong>enjoy quiet time together<\/strong> in the Sun Gazebo as well. \u201cOne of our favorite memories,\u201d Deb said, \u201cis when Don and I were able to sit out in the gazebo during a rainstorm, talking, listening to music, and reading as the storm passed. We were perfectly dry. It was <strong>one of those beautiful moments <\/strong>of enjoying the summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And how do they plan to use their 1st prize gift certificate? They are still mulling over possibilities.
