We Exceed Sustainability Standards

Beyond Sustainable: Forever Redwood adheres to hands-on forest restoration practices, which more conservatively limit timber harvest rates than even the most stringent sustainable forestry rules. Although many concepts comprise restoration forestry, a center piece is that it severely limits timber harvesting in perpetuity to allow the forest to mature and develop large old trees and habitat for “mature forest habitat dependent species”.

Under Restoration, the lumber quality of the forest continually improves because the increasing competition between the trees yields excellent quality slow growing wood. At Forever Redwood, we believe quality is much more important than quantity. Not just in our forestry work, but also in the beautiful furniture we make with the limited amount of wood our Restoration standards allow us to cut. Forever Redwood’s practices vastly exceed the guidelines that are typically marketed as "sustainable" and it is our hope that our innovative practices will elevate the industry’s standards for forestry management in the future. For more information on our restoration forestry efforts please click here:
