The following is an email exchange between Ashley Fleschner from Fleschner Constructions and Raul Hernandez Forever Redwood CEO:
This is Raul Hernandez, CEO of Forever Redwood. I saw that you signed up to download our free eBook, “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Pergolas and Pavilions.”
I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and our company. We have been in the patio furniture business for 20 years. Our underlying mission is to restore California Redwood forestlands to their ancient state — full of very old, very large trees.
We use the proceeds from sales to fund our forestry work.
Our ethic when it comes to building patio furniture and shade structures is to create something (like the trees) that will last virtually “forever.”
We take great care with every step of the process, from planning to installation, to make sure the pergola or pavilion you buy will be the last one you ever need.
I would love the opportunity to hear more about your project.
It usually just takes one or two quick conversations to work out the details of a project and give you a quote.
Once you put down a deposit, our engineers will create your custom drawings, making sure everything will be built exactly to fit your location and fulfill your vision.
Please feel free to reach out and contact me anytime. You have my email address ([email protected]) and you can also call (866) 332-2403 and ask for me directly.
Raul F. Hernandez.
Thanks for the email. I’m a General Contractor for residential remodeling in Portland, Oregon. I stumbled on your website looking for information on redwood as an alternative to cedar. Loved your video. I don’t have a specific project in mind but was extremely impressed with your website and your company’s mission. I’m certain you will hear from me in the future. I’m often asked to provide bids for decks, pergolas, and outdoor features.
I grew up in Trinidad, California in Humboldt County and have planted redwood trees at numerous locations on my mom’s property where it had been logged and there is a big alder forest. In any event, nice work on a company mission that improves the reforestation and provides people with access to one of the most beautiful materials to build with. Take care.

Thank you for taking the time to write. Yes, for me, it was and will always be about doing the right thing in the woods. Let me know if we can help with any project down the road. We are teaming up with New Island Capital and a couple of other good stewards of Redwood forestland to be able to expand our operations and be able to sell even some lumber if need be.
Call or email anytime.
