Jean's Ultimate Swing Set is a gorgeous unit that was built to order. A work of art that took almost half a year to design and is here to stay forever.
- Design: An ultimate swing set that includes two swing seats next to the main glider that can be used by children of all ages.
- Quality: Solid construction with superior craftsmanship with Redwood that outlasts teak or cedar.
- Customize: Click the More Options button to choose seat style, roof options, beverage armrest, kids platform side table, engraving and sealant colors.
- Assembly: Ships in a large crate. Can be placed directly on bare ground if you like. It is built to last and to hold up fine in any weather for decades
- Our Story: We started with an extra tall swing for maximum swinging enjoyment (12 ft). Then we added a Face to Face Glider for 4 adults unlike any we have built before. The extra long hangers make the foot powered gliding long and graceful. We added a steel beam and other steel reinforcements in case the swing ever fell into hands of sugared up adolescents testing its capabilities for hours on end. For the faint of heart, we added a roof for shade and rain protection.

Seel Beam Reincorcement
Available for additional structural reinforcement for Rory's Giant 3-Person Swing is a 1/4" thick steel beam. It sits atop the entire length of the 6 x 6 main timber and wraps around both the front and rear for additional long-term structural strength. The steel beam is not needed for normal long-term use; it was developed for commercial installations, but has been ordered occasionally for private family applications where on-going rambunctious behavior is anticipated. The steel beam is primered and painted black (oil based paint) and comes with all the stainless steel bolts needed to firmly secure it to the main beam.
The hanging hardware is 4"L x 2 1/4"W x 3 1/4"H (see drawings below)
Some customers ask us about not having to touch the chain with their hands. If you don't want to touch the chain, the easiest solution is to order the seat without chain and instead buy high quality manila rope from your local hardware store or online. If you like the idea of using chain, you can slide a plastic sleeve over the chain (at least the bottom 2 feet or so which will be touched regularly). Any hardware store has plastic tubing that can be cut to slide the chain into. If you have a large diameter old garden hose, which will do the trick also.
Rory's Swing Seat Dimensions
3" thick x 2' 2" long x 5 3/4" wide.
The seat has a 30" wide seating capacity.
Capacity is 400 lbs.
However, ultimate weight bearing capacity will depend on what you use to attach the seat (e.g., rope, chain, etc.) and what you attach it to (e.g., a tree or beam).
Toddler/Small Kid's Swing Seat Dimensions
The Toddler/Small Kid's Swing Seat is recommended for ages 6 months to 3 years old.
It is 15 1/2"W x 13"D x 8 1/2"H to top of front safe
Our swings are so massive that they do not need to be secured to the ground. The only thing we recommend is that you add a few inches of gravel underneath each of the four post corners so that the posts won't settle into the ground.
Assembly Instructions for: Jean's Ultimate Swing Sets
All You Need is a Few Tools and a Friend.
Assembly is best done by two people and usually takes about half a day to a day, depending on size. Pergolas need a ratchet wrench, a hammer and a ladder to put them together. In some cases, you might need a drill to attach the posts into concrete. As with all our products, we preassemble pergolas in our shop to ensure everything fits together. All hardware is included and all parts are clearly labeled before it is shipped. We also include detailed step-by-step instructions.
Take a look at our assembly instructions below for specific details. If you plan to pour concrete to hold the posts, the project will require an additional half day prior to assembly. Please do the concrete pour a few days prior to assembly to allow the concrete to cure.
Installation Help.
Special talent is not required to re-assemble our pergolas. But, if you would like help, just let us know. We have our own team for installations in California, Nevada and Southern Arizona and a network of local contractors we recommend for farther afield.
Care: Your Forever Redwood Furniture will last for decades in year-round weather without maintenance.
Depending on the wood grade you choose, even with harsh year-round outdoor conditions, you can expect your furniture to last from ten to forty years without maintenance of any kind.
Being outside year-round is rough on any woods finish. The surface absorbs UV rays, pollution, constant variations in moisture and temperature and it also oxidizes. This is why most wood just doesn’t hold up and the surface color slowly changes towards a silver patina over the years. But, with Forever Redwood, you don’t have to worry. The silver patina is surface deep only (less than 1/64") and is not indicative of decay. Your set will last decades and is not compromised in any way by the surface color change. For example, we keep our display items as is without refinishing to show off this natural aging (we like the patina!).
Although Forever Redwood is maintenance-free, we recommended you take a few minutes as needed to clean by either hosing down and/or brushing/dusting away accumulated debris (no soap or chemicals needed). If you’d like to keep your set looking its best for decades, please go to: Care and Finish.
