What a pavilion price depends on
A pavilion is a post-and-beam structure with a solid roof, so it costs more than an open pergola of the same size. Its price depends on five things: the design, the size, the wood grade, the roofing and the options you add. Every Forever Redwood pavilion is a made-to-order kit, and the configurator on each product page shows the exact price as you choose them.
The prices below come straight from our configurator for the Del Norte Outdoor Kitchen Pavilion, one of our most ordered designs, in Douglas-fir with a bare wood roof (you add the final roofing yourself, or choose one of ours below) and no options.
Pavilion prices by size
| Size | Douglas-fir, bare wood roof | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 10 x 10 ft | $8,460 | A grill station or a small sitting area |
| 12 x 12 ft | $11,690 | A dining table for 6 |
| 12 x 16 ft | $14,230 | Grill plus dining |
| 16 x 16 ft | $18,330 | An outdoor kitchen with a dining area |
| 16 x 20 ft | $21,240 | Kitchen, dining and lounge under one roof |
| 20 x 24 ft | $33,850 | Large gatherings and events |
Prices are before taxes, with free shipping in the Continental U.S. Sizes in between, pavilions up to 60 ft long and fully custom sizes are available.

How much more redwood costs
The wood grade sets the look and the length of the warranty against decay. Moving up from Douglas-fir adds the following to the Del Norte Outdoor Kitchen Pavilion:
| Wood grade | Warranty | 12 x 12 ft | 16 x 16 ft | 16 x 20 ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Douglas-fir or Mosaic Douglas-fir | 10 years | Included | Included | Included |
| California Redwood or Mosaic Redwood | 15 years | +$1,410 | +$2,200 | +$2,550 |
| Mature Redwood or Mosaic Mature Redwood | 20 years | +$2,460 | +$3,850 | +$4,470 |
California Redwood is the most popular choice: it adds about 12% to the price and five years of warranty. Mosaic grades are made from 100% reclaimed wood at the same price as the matching grade. See our wood grades to compare them.
Roofing: bare wood, shingles or metal
Every pavilion comes with a solid tongue-and-groove wood roof deck. You can leave it bare and buy the final roofing locally, or have us include it:
| Roofing | 12 x 12 ft | 16 x 16 ft | 16 x 20 ft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bare wood roof (you add the roofing) | Included | Included | Included |
| Asphalt shingle roof | +$940 | +$1,670 | +$2,080 |
| Metal roof (most popular) | +$1,720 | +$3,060 | +$3,820 |
So a 16 x 16 ft Del Norte in California Redwood with a metal roof comes to $23,590 before options, about 29% more than the base price.

Options that change the price
- Anchors. A 4-post high-wind anchor kit for concrete adds $680.
- Post height. Posts from 7 to 9.5 ft are offered; 9.5 ft is the most popular.
- Comfort and finish. Skylights, ceiling fan bases, heavy-duty curtain rods, Bahama shutters, TV mounts, a removable chimney cutout, wiring trim, post trim and stains are all optional and priced in the configurator.
- Hardware. Zinc-plated, galvanized, stainless steel or powder-coated, depending on your climate.
What is included in the price
- Design drawings at no cost. Nothing is built until you approve them, and we revise them with you until everything is right.
- Free shipping in the Continental U.S. Orders ship within 4 weeks of design approval.
- A complete kit. Pre-cut, finished timbers with the hardware, assembly and anchoring instructions.
- A decay warranty of 10 to 20 years on these grades, depending on the wood you choose.
Costs to plan for besides the kit
- Footings or a slab: the pavilion needs a level, solid base to anchor to.
- Assembly: put the kit together with a local contractor, or ask us for a quote for assembly anywhere in the U.S.
- Permits: pavilions are larger than most pergolas, so many cities ask for a permit. Check with your local building department before you order.
- Sales tax: added only to deliveries in California.
- Electrical or plumbing for an outdoor kitchen, done by your local trades.
You can pay as your build progresses: a deposit starts your design, and each product page shows the deposit for the price of your order.
How long it takes, from order to delivery
A pavilion is built to order, so the timeline starts with the design, not the shop:
- Drawings. We email your first drawings within 3 business days of your order, and revisions within 2 days of your feedback.
- Your approval. Nothing is cut until you approve the drawings, so you can adjust the size, the roof or the options without extra cost.
- Building and shipping. Orders ship within 4 weeks of design approval, with free shipping in the Continental U.S.
If you plan to have it ready for a season or an event, order early enough to leave time for your permit and your footings, which you can prepare while we build the kit.
