Most Arbors have a ceiling height around 8ft. 2 post arbors are usually installed by placing the posts underground 24 inches and adding concrete to hold them in place. The posts of a 2 post arbor extend beyond the "ceiling height" about 7 inches (see drawing below).
For example, the drawing below shows an 11 ft post placed 24 inches underground resulting in your posts being 9 ft above ground, with your roof supports just under 8' 3½" above ground and your ceiling height (clearance to the bottom of the Roof Rafters at 8' 6¾". If you prefer less or more ceiling height than shown, you can choose another post length. We offer post lengths of 10 ft, 11 ft and 12 ft.
